Planet Fitness has announced the return of its exclusive PerksFest event, offering members special deals from top national brands. The promotion, which kicked off on November 25 and is available through December 6, is designed to help members save money during the busy holiday shopping season. The discounts are accessible through the Planet Fitness app, and non-members can join Planet Fitness to take advantage of the savings by signing up online or at their local club.

Planet Fitness Sr. Director of Partnerships Justin Unger said, “Planet Fitness is dedicated to bringing exceptional value to our members inside and outside of our clubs. We know our members are always looking for ways to maximize on savings during the busy and expensive holiday shopping season, and we’re excited to offer a wide range of Perks for them to enjoy just for being a member. Through our PF Perks program, we have collectively saved our members $7.6 million this year alone. With members saving an average of $53 for every PF Perks redemption, they’re able to save the cost of three months of a Classic Card membership and two months of the PF Black Card® membership.”

PerksFest features a wide range of exclusive discounts, such as a 43% discount on an AARP five-year membership, free months of enjoyment on Apple Music and Apple TV+, discounted hotel stays, and savings on meal deliveries from Green Chef, Good Chop, and Purple Carrot. McDonald’s Launches McValue Menu to Address Rising Prices and Boost Sales
McDonald’s is introducing a new budget-friendly menu called the “McValue” menu in hopes of getting back customers who’ve been deterred by its rising prices. The menu is set to roll out across its U.S. locations on January 7, 2025. The McValue menu will feature the popular $5 meal deal that debuted earlier this year. Additionally, it will include a new “Buy One, Add One for $1” offer, which will feature breakfast items.

In a statement, McDonald’s President Joe Erlinger said, “When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all. We’ve worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms.”

Over the past five years, the price of McDonald’s menu items has increased by approximately 40%, contributing to a decline in the chain’s value perception among cost-conscious consumers. This approach to win back customers includes more in-app offers and localized food and drink promotions tailored to specific markets.

Exxon Tiger Mart Partners With Lula Commerce for Third-Party Delivery Service
Exxon Tiger Mart is collaborating with Lula Commerce to expand its delivery services to 20 locations across South Carolina. This partnership allows customers to order food from 10 of the locations via platforms likeDoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. The remaining locations are expected to join the program by 2025. Lula Commerce, which provides managed e-commerce services, has also worked with other convenience retailers such as Jacksons Food Stores, Circle K franchise operators, Clipper, and Atlantis Management Group.

The partnerships come as labor shortages and high employee turnover are common challenges for businesses. By outsourcing delivery and order management to Lula Commerce, Tiger Mart has been able to free up more than 100 hours of operational time. In addition to managing delivery services, Lula provides valuable support such as menu digitization and retailer training, allowing stores to focus on other important tasks while streamlining their e-commerce operations.

The move to integrate delivery into convenience stores aligns with consumer expectations, as more than half of customers view convenience stores as a viable alternative to fast food. With a growing number of stores adopting similar technologies, such as Dandy and Tri-Star Energy, the trend is expected to continue. Adding third-party delivery enhances customer satisfaction while driving sales and improving order fulfillment.
