Home Depot Steps Up Delivery Promise
Yesterday, it was revealed that Home Depot will be spending $1.2 billion over the next five years in the name of same- or next-day delivery. Not only will the transition help with a more timely service, but the move is expected to “reduce transportation costs, improve inventory alignment and further integrate its expanding online business.” To help implement the changes, 170 distribution facilities and 40 flatbed distribution centers will be added to the Home Depot fleet. By the time the changes are completed, Home Depot believes 90 percent of its base will be able to receive same-day or next-day deliveries.

W.A.T.C.H. Out For These Toys
World Against Toys Causing Harm (WATCH), released its most dangerous toys of the summer list this year. According to the group, 2.5 million kids are injured each year from toys on this list. Last summer, fidget spinners were number one, as they presented a choking hazard for small children. This year, water balloon slingshots have taken home the number one most dangerous summer toy slot. Other items include, “low-riding wheeled toys; swimming pools; all-terrain vehicles; toys with small parts; baby pools and garden buckets; backyard water slides; high-powered water guns; and bounce houses and backyard trampolines.” In other words, make sure you watch your kids this summer, it’s a dangerous world out there.
