UPS To Airlift More Than 2 Million Masks And Protective Gear To China
The UPS Foundation recently announced it is transporting more than 2 million respirator masks and 11,000 protective coveralls to China to help combat the spread of the coronavirus in Wuhan, China. “The world needs strong public-private partnerships to help contain the spread of this deadly virus and The UPS Foundation is expanding its humanitarian relief network to support our partners in providing supply chain expertise and air transport,” Eduardo Martinez, president of The UPS Foundation and UPS chief diversity and inclusion officer, said in a company press release.
Chipotle Launches A New Accelerator For Ventures Empowering The Next Generation Of Farmers
Chipotle recently announced the Chipotle Aluminaries Project 2.0, “an accelerator program designed to support ventures from across the country that are advancing innovative solutions to empower the next generation of farmers,” according to a company release. The program is sponsored by the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation in partnership with Uncharted, both nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Chipotle says farmer-focused companies may submit applications through March 11, 2020 “to join a new cohort of ventures that will receive eight months of customized support, including mentorship from industry leaders.”
Apple Brings On Netflix Developer In Streaming Push
Apple recently hired Ruslan Meshenberg, formerly a top Netflix engineer, with the goal of enhancing its TV streaming service. Meshenberg was known at Netflix for helping to develop speedier and more efficient services. The hire comes “as Apple is trying to build up its streaming service, which it launched last November, with other new hires, along with new movies and TV available for subscribers,” according to

Relaunched Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards
Delta recently announced that the Delta SkyMiles American Express Card portfolio now has more rewards and enhanced travel perks for consumers and business owners. One change includes the Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Reserve American Express Cards now being made from metal. The Delta release states: “Eligible new Card Members who apply through April 1 can earn an incredible welcome offer, up to 100,000 miles, depending on the Card.”

IKEA Promises New Data Controls for Consumers
IKEA said it will provide customers with new controls over the way the company collects and uses data about them on its digital platforms. “We are doing this because we believe it’s the right thing to do and we believe it makes business sense to respect people’s data,” Barbara Martin Coppola, chief digital officer at Ingka Group, the largest IKEA franchisee and operator, told The Wall Street Journal.
