Stitch Fix, an online personal styling service, has launched Stitch Fix Vision, a cutting-edge fashion visualization tool powered by generative AI. The new feature is in beta and allows clients to see images of themselves styled in curated outfits tailored to their preferences and the latest fashion trends.
By combining artificial intelligence with years of client data and stylist expertise, Stitch Fix Vision delivers a personalized, inspirational shopping experience.
Stitch Fix CEO Matt Baer said, “When Stitch Fix launched nearly 15 years ago, we disrupted the retail market, and today we are rewriting the retail playbook once again with our latest suite of innovations, including Stitch Fix Vision. We have billions of data points on our clients’ fit and style preferences, and we are using these insights, as well as the latest in GenAI technology, our assortment of leading brands, and the expertise of our Stylists, to deliver ultra-personalization at scale and bring to life new ways for clients to discover the styles they will love.”
Stitch Fix Chief Product and Technology Officer Tony Baco added, “We believe shopping for clothes should be easy and fun, and that everyone should feel confident in what they wear. Vision delivers on both, providing first-of-its-kind personal style visualization and inspiration. It is an entirely new approach to style discovery, unlike any of the existing ‘virtual try on’ experiences that require shoppers to do all the work.”
Vision works by allowing users to upload a selfie and a full-length photo through the Stitch Fix app. From there, they receive personalized, shoppable images of themselves in styled outfits across various environments, like city streets or beach getaways. These images not only offer outfit inspiration but also enable clients to instantly purchase or add items to their next Fix. The system refreshes weekly with new images, providing a dynamic, evolving style gallery.
Stitch Fix Vision is part of a broader push by the company to deepen personalization and client engagement. This includes the launch of Stylist Connect, a messaging tool available in the iOS app for two-way communication between clients and personal stylists, and Family Accounts, which lets users shop for their entire household from one profile. Stitch Fix is also rolling out themed holiday Fixes and expanding its brand offerings, adding names like Favorite Daughter, Pendleton, and Kate Spade.
