Save A Lot and its customers came together to make a significant impact on hunger relief during the 2025 holiday season, delivering a total of nearly $549,000 worth of food and grocery assistance to local communities.

Through the retailer’s Bags for a Brighter Holiday program, shoppers purchased pre-assembled bags of groceries between October and December, resulting in the donation of more than 103,000 bags of food to charities and food pantries nationwide.

Each bag contained essential grocery staples, helping families facing food insecurity during a critical time of year. Save A Lot also contributed an additional $50,000 in gift cards to support 116 charities.

More than 450 locally owned and operated Save A Lot stores participated, with 18 locations exceeding 1,000 donated bags.

Save A Lot CEO Bill Mayo said, “This year’s results for this initiative show all of us at Save A Lot that our customers really are the heart of our business. We recognized the need to launch this program early to help those who needed it the most, and our customers responded in a big way. Knowing the positive impact all these bags of food will have for communities around the country is inspiring.”

Save A Lot stores continue to support their neighborhoods through ongoing partnerships with local charities, in-store fundraisers, and community events, reinforcing the company’s mission to make an impact wherever it operates.
