For restaurant chains, loyalty programs have quietly become just as important as the menu itself — and Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks is leaning further into that trend with an upgraded version of its Real Philly Rewards program. Beginning June 1, the Southern California-based cheesesteak brand will give customers more flexibility in how they redeem points, expanding rewards beyond the traditional “save up for a free sandwich” model.

The updated system allows members to cash in points for smaller items like sides and beverages, while also offering cash-style rewards that can be applied toward meal upgrades. Guests who prefer bigger-ticket rewards can still bank points toward free cheesesteaks and hoagies, but the broader shift reflects a growing industry-wide focus on instant gratification and personalized value.

“Bringing real Philly flavor to the West Coast has always been at the heart of our operations,” said Bob Levey, co-founder of Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks. “The next evolution of Real Philly Rewards is all about giving our guests more flexibility and everyday value, whether they’re enjoying a full meal or just looking for a little something extra that makes their day.”
