Hyundai Expands One Tree Planted Partnership

Hyundai Motor America will expand its partnership with One Tree Planted — a nonprofit organization dedicated to global reforestation. The expansion will increase Hyundai’s previous tree planting goal by 200,000 trees, resulting in a total of 350,000 trees planted.

The partnership is part of the car manufacturer’s commitment to sustainability and combatting climate change. The increased North American partnership also expands Hyundai’s global eco-initiatives, including the IONIQ Forest project — a world-wide social and ecological effort to address reforestation, afforestation, and biodiversity.

"We are grateful for our continued partnership with Hyundai, and all the work we have been able to do together over the past year," says Matt Hill, president and chief environmental optimist, One Tree Planted. "As we move into our second year of partnership, we are excited to continue to get trees in the ground across North America, having positive impacts on nature, biodiversity and communities."

Hyundai donated two IONIQ 6 EVs to the One Tree Planted fleet to be used at tree planting events throughout the U.S. The EVs are part of Hyundai’s goals of zero-emissions and electrification, which will bring 11 new EVs to market by 2030.
