Hawaiian Airlines has officially joined the oneworld alliance, marking its first participation in a major global airline network. The move significantly expands travel connectivity to and from Hawai‘i, linking the islands to nearly 1,000 destinations across more than 170 countries. For both residents and visitors, the partnership makes it easier to access international routes while enhancing the overall travel experience with seamless connections and shared benefits.

The integration brings immediate advantages for members of Atmos Rewards, the combined loyalty program of Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines. With oneworld membership, Hawaiian Airlines Atmos Rewards members can earn and redeem points across partner airlines while enjoying elite perks like lounge access, priority services, and additional baggage benefits. They can also book flights seamlessly across platforms, with Hawaiian set to mark the partnership by unveiling a special oneworld-themed Airbus A330 later this year.

Hawaiian Airlines CEO Diana Birkett Rakow said, “A warm aloha to our new oneworld ʻohana, or family, of the world’s leading global airlines, including exceptional flag carriers that, much like Hawaiian, share the beauty and culture of our home with our guests from around the world. We are excited to give Hawai‘i residents and all of our Atmos Rewards members access to exciting destinations around the world – from Honolulu to Hong Kong, Maui to Melbourne and Līhu‘e to London, and to welcome new oneworld guests with our genuine Hawaiian hospitality while inspiring visitors to appreciate Hawai‘i’s people, culture, and natural environment.”

Ole Orvér, CEO of oneworld alliance, said, “We are delighted to officially welcome Hawaiian Airlines into the oneworld family, further strengthening our alliance’s footprint in the Pacific region and the United States. Renowned for its award-winning hospitality for almost 100 years, Hawaiian Airlines will make travel to the beautiful islands of Hawai‘i more connected and rewarding for oneworld customers, delivering an elevated journey that brings the spirit of aloha to our alliance.”

Hawaiian Airlines’ entry also strengthens its relationship with Alaska Airlines, which joined the alliance in 2021. Together, the two carriers expand Alaska Air Group’s global footprint, offering broader route options and improved customer value. The partnership enhances competition within the airline industry while supporting a more connected and efficient travel ecosystem, particularly across the Pacific region.

Beyond traveler benefits, the alliance is expected to deliver economic gains for Hawai‘i by boosting tourism and increasing global accessibility. With improved connectivity and loyalty incentives, the partnership encourages more international visitors while supporting local businesses and jobs. Overall, Hawaiian Airlines’ oneworld membership represents a major step toward integrating the islands more fully into the global travel network.
