Visa Adds Instant Savings Rewards to Small Business Loyalty Program
Visa Inc. has launched a new series of discounts for its small business customers aimed at reducing the cost of commonly purchased business applications and equipment. Visa Small Business cardholders can access more than 40 Instant Savings offers on the Visa SavingsEdge™ loyalty program website.
Current offers include 40% off Dropbox subscriptions, 70% off the QuickBooks add-on Finagraph CashFlowTool, 25% off the Visme presentation and design tool, and up to 20% off Microsoft Surface for Business devices at the Microsoft Store. Cardholders who open an Indeed employer account will receive a $200 credit toward future listings, and Verizon Wireless is offering a $69 statement credit with certain business internet services.
“We’re seeing that small business growth is on the rise, despite current macroeconomic challenges,” said Veronica Fernandez, Senior Vice President and North America Head of Visa Commercial Solutions. “With Visa’s innovative offers and seamless access to run-of-business applications, the value associated with a business card becomes exponentially stronger, enabling small businesses to experience significant cost savings and efficiency.”
McDonald’s Announces Free Fries Friday Amid Price Resistance
McDonald’s customers who order on the restaurant’s mobile app can now get free medium fries every Friday. The promotion runs through December 29 and requires a $1 minimum purchase. McDonald’s reported last summer that digital sales account for nearly 40% of the chain’s volume in its top six markets.
The latest McDonald’s Franchisee Survey shows that some operators are facing price resistance from customers. The company raised its prices by about 10% last year in response to inflation, resulting in fewer items per transaction. “Customers are getting very stingy,” one franchise owner said.
Other quick-service chains have introduced similar cost-cutting promotions to keep customers coming back.
Ulta Beauty Pilots Digital Sample-Dispensing Machines to Drive Loyalty
Customers of the nation’s largest beauty retailer can now get free samples from interactive digital displays in stores. Ulta Beauty is testing the next-generation vending machines in 10 U.S. locations. The technology was developed by digital vending company SOS.
Members of the Ultamate Rewards program enter their email address or phone number to choose one free item a week from travel-size skin and hair products by popular brands. New customers can enroll in the program on the spot and receive their sample.
“Through our pilot program with SOS, we have the ability to learn how guests are engaging with vending machines and digital brand touchpoints in store, opening up new opportunities to transform the beauty shopping experience,” said Maria Salcedo, Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Ulta Beauty.
