Dunkin' and Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation have announced a collaboration with BARK, the dog company that made BarkBox, to create new Dunkin' themed dog toys that are modeled after Dunkin's MUNCHKINS donut hole treat boxes and hot coffee toy. These dog toys will release in August and will be available at participating Dunkin' locations. According to the news release, Dunkin's Joy in Childhood Foundation's Chief Joy Officer and Dogs for Joy ambassador, Cooper Dunkin', has personally tested and approved the BARK Dunkin' inspired dog toy designs.
"Through our Dogs for Joy program, amazing service dogs like Cooper Dunkin', have the opportunity to spread joy to children who are battling illness," said Kari McHugh, Executive Director of the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation, in a Dunkin' press release. "These lovable toys will make dogs almost as happy as they make us, while also helping support Foundation programming to bring joy to children facing hunger and illness."
Dunkin' customers that donate to the Dunkin' Joy for Childhood Foundation at a participation Dunkin' location will get a Dunkin'-ized dog toy as a thank you. Customers will get a squeaky hot coffee dog toy for a $12 donation, while a $15 one will get the customer a multipart box of MUNCHKINS donut hole treats dog toy, that is lined with felt and has three plush MUNCHKINS donut hole treat toys inside of it.
The money that has been raised will help the Foundation programs that work to help kids battling hunger or illness, which includes the Dogs for Joy program. This program started in 2018 and brought full-time service dogs to children's hospitals. Since then, the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation has helped fund 15 full-time service dogs across 12 hospitals.
Those that still want to give back can register for the Dunkin' JOY Run. This program is a virtual race challenge that asks Dunkin' customers across the nation to run or walk throughout August for a good cause. The first 1,000 people that register will get a virtual product bag that includes a BARK discount code, as well as other items. All the money raised for Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation through the Dunkin' JOY Run will go to health and hunger organizations that support children in underserved communities.
