Mobil 1™ and Steer Partner on Customer Communications at Auto Repair Shops
Motor oil brand Mobil 1 has announced a long-term agreement with Steer, a marketing platform for repair shops, to enhance communication between the shops and their customers. The Steer platform enables automated messaging to customers such as appointment reminders and repair status updates.
Mobil 1 will work with Steer to develop and disseminate communications on quick-lube service and fluid change recommendations, designed to promote awareness of Mobil 1 products. Shoppers that are customers of both companies will receive special pricing and rebate offers. The partners plan to develop an ongoing rewards program for their shared customers.
“Our mission is to improve the repair experience for shops and vehicle owners alike. Our collaboration with Mobil 1 is a significant step toward realizing this vision,” said Parker Swift, CEO and Founder of Steer.
HomeGoods Exits Online Marketplace to Focus on Physical Stores
Home furnishings retailer HomeGoods was late to the game when the brand launched its online store only two years ago. Last week, HomeGoods’ brief foray into e-commerce came to an end.
“We’ve made the decision to focus our resources on our more than 900 brick-and-mortar stores across the United States, where we invite our passionate HomeGoods.com customers to continue shopping for home fashion and décor,” the company said in a statement.
In SEC filings, the company stated the now-defunct online store accounted for less than 1% of sales. Weak online performance isn’t unusual for discount chains, whose customers often enjoy the hunt just as much as the bargain.
Bank of America Announces Experiential Rewards for Top Customers
Bank of America has unveiled the latest roster of luxury experiences reserved for high-status members of its Preferred Rewards program.
Diamond and Diamond Honors members, who have at least $1 million with the bank, now have access to a private advisor to help them select a bottle of top-shelf champagne and a boutique travel planner to assist with wandering the world. A dedicated concierge is on hand to assure first dibs on new releases from brands such as Chanel, Rolex, and Tiffany.
Saving money still matters, even at this level of distinction, so members are entitled to discounts on private jet service, yacht rentals, and luxury electric vehicles.
