Delta is set to take in-flight dining to new heights through a partnership with Shake Shack, serving the hip counter-server chain’s iconic burgers at 30,000 feet. The collaboration is a first-of-its-kind partnership, launched on December 1 with flights departing from Boston, and expanding to additional U.S. markets throughout 2025. Passengers flying First Class on routes more than 900 miles will have the exclusive opportunity to pre-select a Shake Shack Cheeseburger as their meal choice.
Delta Air Lines Senior Vice President of Inflight Service Kristen Manion Taylor said, “Memorable meals are part of the travel experience – whether you’re 35,000 feet in the air or exploring the streets of your destination. This is why we work with the best chefs, sommeliers, and partners to keep our onboard food and beverage program fresh -- because a thoughtfully curated in-flight menu can turn routine travel into an unforgettable journey.”
Shake Shack President of Global Licensing Michael Kark added, “At Shake Shack, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to meet our guests where they are, even at 35,000 feet. Taking our beloved cheeseburger to new heights, Shake Shack is proud to partner with Delta as we elevate the in-flight dining and hospitality experience for travelers across the country.”
The Shake Shack Cheeseburger is crafted with premium ingredients, featuring a 100% Angus beef patty with cheese, served on a toasted potato bun. Passengers can customize their burger with classic toppings like tomato, lettuce, and ShackSauce, which will be served on the side. Alongside the burger, travelers will enjoy chips, a Caesar salad, and a decadent dark chocolate brownie inspired by Shake Shack’s famous Shack Attack dessert.
Delta will have the Shake Shack Cheeseburger available for pre-selection, and customers can choose or modify their meal up to 24 hours before departure using the Fly Delta app or through a link in their email, beginning seven days prior to their flight.
The Delta and Shake Shack partnership expands on Delta’s long-term collaboration with Union Square Hospitality Group and the founder of Shake Shack, Danny Meyer. Union Square’s catering arm will also have meals available on select Delta flights flying out of JFK.
Delta is also unveiling a refreshed seasonal wine program for the holidays and introducing a variety of new snacks and meals created in partnership with award-winning chefs.
