Verizon Targets Digital Skills Boost, Carbon Cut
 
According to a Mobile World Live article, Verizon plans to give digital skill training to millions of people and become carbon neutral by 2035. The brand plans to train 10 million school-aged children by 2030, and by the same year, it has also promised to equip 1 million small businesses to take part in the digital economy.
 
In the above article, "CEO Hans Vestberg stated the plan was a "significant commitment to move the world forward through the power of action and technology" in the wake of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, adding "there has never been a more critical moment to demonstrate the power of purpose."

Brand Loyalty Increasing Among New-Vehicle Buyers, J.D. Power Finds
 
According to a J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Automotive Brand Loyalty Study, if a vehicle owner is loyal to a certain brand, it is becoming more difficult for another brand to impress them and take them away from the previous brand when it is time to buy a new vehicle.
 
"There are many factors that contribute to brand loyalty, ranging from the experience a customer has when purchasing the vehicle to how driving it makes them feel," said Tyson Jominy, vice president of data & analytics at J.D. Power, in a J.D. Power news release. "Automakers are really focused on customer retention, as evidenced by the payment plans and incentives they've offered since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Many have gone above and beyond to offer customers financial assistance during a period of economic uncertainty, which does a lot to bolster consumer confidence in their chosen brand and repurchase it in the future."

Walgreens and DoorDash Announce On-Demand Delivery Collaboration
 
Walgreens and DoorDash have announced a partnership to offer on-demand delivery to customers in select cities with plans to expand to markets across the nation.
 
"Our collaboration with DoorDash is the latest example of our ongoing focus on enhancing our customer experience with new convenient, accessible and safe shopping and delivery options," said Stefanie Kruse, vice president, digital commerce and omnichannel at Walgreens, in a Walgreens press release. "We continue to offer additional ways to get essential retail products into the hands of customers at their door stoop or wherever and whenever is most convenient for them."

The Pandemic is Fueling Domino's Future
 
According to a QSR Magazine article, the pandemic has seen Domino's raise its sales, including same-store sales going up 16.1 percent in the second quarter.
 
"Wings are a rapidly growing category in delivery and carryout, and if we're honest with ourselves, our wings needed to improve," CEO Ritch Allison said during the brand's Q2 earnings call in the above QSR Magazine article. "And this is a sign that continued menu innovation doesn't always have to be something brand new but can be a major renovation of existing products that customers have simply told us need to be better."

Wawa to Test Drive-Thru at a New Garden State Store
 
According to a Convenience Store News article, Wawa has announced that it intends to offer drive-thru service at a planned Westampton store. Hours would run from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the brand hopes to open the store by the end of 2020.
 
"We are hoping to learn from the layout, workflow, and traffic flow at this location, as we continue to explore alternatives for longer-term application to our stores post-COVID-19," said Terri Micklin, Wawa's head of construction, in the Convenience Store News article.
