Atkins Launches Atkins Party Planner Skill for Amazon Alexa
Atkins is unveiling a new tool called the Atkins Party Planner Skill for Amazon Alexa. The tool – with brand spokesperson Rob Lowe – will offer recipe alternatives for traditionally high-carb dishes, helping people create low-carb dishes for their parties. “With the Atkins Party Planner, I want to help people make better decisions as we gear up for the big game and all celebrations in 2020. It's easy to make simple swaps to high-carb favorites and I know these recipes will make staying on track stress-free and easy," Lowe said in a release. “Living a healthy life is a priority for me and embracing the Atkins low carb lifestyle for the past 20 years has kept me energized and able to achieve success.”
 
Introducing Instacart Meals, a New Product for Grocers & Consumers
Instacart is introducing Instacart Meals, a product that allows for easy ordering, delivery and pickup of made-to-order food in as fast as an hour. Instacart says “at less than half the price of an average fast-casual food order, made-to-order grocery meals offer access to a fresh, easy and more affordable option when life is hectic and dinner is soon.” Instacart has collaborated with Publix to introduce Instacart Meals and says the program will be available in Publix stores in Florida in the coming weeks and then added to Publix locations across the Southeast U.S. in the months ahead.

Mars Announces Expansion Plans for M&M’S Stores in the U.S. and Abroad
Mars Retail Group will open three new retail locations over the next two years, including Disney Springs in Orlando, Fla., Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn., and in Berlin, Germany. “Our aspiration will always be to bring the best of the M&M'S Brand experience to our consumers in each retail location,” Patrick McIntyre, Director of Global Retail at Mars Retail Group, said in a company release. “Our new stores are advancing in design and experience to create a true connection and commitment to place alongside exciting digital and analog moments. We are bringing the brand to life in an immersive way.”
 
Walmart tests higher hourly starting wages in 500 stores
Walmart says it’s testing higher wages for new hourly positions at 500 of its stores in the United States. After raising its starting pay to $11 per hour in early 2018, Walmart, which has approximately 4,700 stores across the U.S., now will be raising the starting hourly rate to $12 for these new roles. “These workers will be trained and empowered to develop broader retail skills,” according to the Associated Press.
