Abercrombie & Fitch Opens New Format Stores Targeted to Millennials and Gen Z
Abercrombie & Fitch announced a new store experience called The Getaway to appeal to 25- to 35-year-olds with a merchandise mix curated for weekend activities. The new getaway-themed aesthetic is a nod to a chic hotel lobby, designed to prioritize omni-channel shopping and provide customers with an immersive experience.

The new getaway-themed retail spaces include elevated fixtures and furnishings, wood accent walls, and styled spaces exclusively for young millennial and zillennial customers. The brand recently opened its first two getaway concept stores and plans to open multiple getaway-concepted stores around the globe through the remainder of the fiscal year.

7-Eleven Acquires Skipcart for Home Delivery Service
7-Eleven has acquired Skipcart, a white-label delivery startup providing same-day and on-demand delivery to allow the company to compete directly with DoorDash and GoPuff. The convenience store has partnered with DoorDash since 2015.

Although 7-Eleven intends to compete directly with DoorDash after the Skipcart acquisition, there is no indication 7-Eleven will try to offer more than its own inventory. 7-Eleven delivery includes traditional c-store snacks, candy, beverages and general merchandise, plus the brand’s offerings of hot foods such as black bean burgers, chicken sandwiches and boneless wings.

H&M Partners with Jane Fonda for H&M Move
H&M recently announced Jane Fonda as spokesperson for H&M Move, the clothing brand’s new so-called movewear brand, which aims to make stylish, functional, and technically innovative workout clothes more accessible.

Fonda stars in the brand’s campaign imagery that highlights the actor’s beginnings as a ballet dancer and later as a fitness guru. The collection features basic activewear pieces such as leggings, sports bras, sports shorts, muscle tees, track jackets and tote bags, and focuses on movement to keep healthy rather than sports and athletics.
