J.Crew Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Obsess Partnerships and Immersive Virtual Experience

Apparel retailer J.Crew announced a partnership with experiential e-commerce platform Obsess to launch an immersive virtual experience for its 40th anniversary. Through the partnership, consumers can visit a 3D beach house with six unique rooms and separate boathouse. 

The Virtual Beach House provides users with an immersive shopping experience. In each room, customers can access interactive content highlighting J.Crew’s heritage, gamified elements, and a seamless checkout. The house is a 360-celebration of the brand’s colors, patterns, textures, and media over the past 40 years. 

“We are excited to celebrate J.Crew’s 40th anniversary with the launch of the J.Crew Virtual Beach House in partnership with Obsess,” says Derek Yarbrough, Chief Marketing Officer of J.Crew and Madewell. “This immersive experience brings J.Crew’s past and present together, giving our customers a virtual passport to explore the world of J.Crew, while shopping a curated edit of summer styles in an innovative digital format.”
