DunnhumbyUSA’s Stuart Aitken said he has big shoes to fill as he succeeds longtime CEO Simon Hay, just as the fast-growing market research firm settles into its new downtown headquarters.

Aitken, a Scot, joined DunnhumbyUSA in late August as COO. Hay, who’s English, will depart in November for parent company Dunnhumby PLC’s home office in London. Hay has led the 50-50 joint venture with Kroger Co. since 2003.

The leadership change comes as DunnhumbyUSA is projecting revenue growth of more than 40 percent for 2009, from $175 million to $250 million, despite a deep recession that’s been particularly hard on U.S. retailers.
