The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is a worldwide information security standard assembled by the Payment Card Industry Standards Council (PSI SSC) The standard was created to help organizations that process credit and debit card payments to proactively protect card data and prevent card fraud, through comprehensive controls including security management, policies, procedures, and other critical protective measures.
