Home Depot Expands Decor into Kids Category
Home Depot expanded its home decor line, StyleWell, into the kids category — a move that indicates the company’s plans to touch every aspect of home life. The collection currently offers 65 products, including curated textiles, soft goods, bedroom decor and bathroom decor. The company’s efforts to expand into decor first took shape in 2019, when it launched the StyleWell line — an assortment of decor geared toward younger shoppers looking for modern and trendy home products.

“We all have to find a reason for our consumers to come back and shop with us and offer things that are exclusive to us,” said Corinne Bentzen, general manager for Home Depot Home. “Developing some of our own lines and expanding what we call our private brand assortment is instrumental to the growth strategy.”

Pinterest Launches Shopping Feature
Pinterest is rolling out new merchant features, including product tagging on Pins and a Pinterest API for Shopping. The company says  all the new features are designed to make it easier for merchants to create engaging shopping experiences for users.

The new “Product Tagging on Pins” shopping feature allows merchants to make their lifestyle Pins shoppable. With product tagging, merchants can add products from their catalog to their scene images. Users can then shop for the exact items from the imagery they find.

CVS Creates New Senior Technology Role
CVS is creating a new senior technology role that will oversee its chief information officer and other tech leaders while focusing on tech strategy and business growth. Tilak Mandadi, formerly chief strategy, innovation and technology officer at MGM Resorts International, will step into the newly created role of chief data, digital and technology officer.

The creation of the new role is meant to bring those spheres together to eliminate silos and take a more integrated company approach to technology. Appointing an “apex” technology leader that is focused on strategy above the CIO is becoming increasingly common for companies. There is an increasing demand for a senior leader who is free from everyday CIO tasks like working with tech vendors and orchestrating cloud services to focus on long-term strategy.
