Who Does CCPA Affect?
The CCPA covers businesses and for-profit entities that conduct business in California, collect personal data of California residents, and satisfy at least one of the following conditions:
1. Generates more than US$25 million in gross revenues
2. Possesses personal information of more than 50,000 California consumers, households, or devices
3. Generates more than 50% of annual revenues from selling the personal information of California residents
CCPA does not distinguish between Data Controllers (Brands) and Data Processors (agencies and technology partners) and places all obligations on the brand.
