The age of long term employment with a single organization is largely gone – with research showing that 46% of new hires are gone within 18 months. That’s a real cost because much of the cost in employee development is front loaded to that first six to eighteen months with basic training, shadowing with existing employees, and “learning moments” that are often called “mistakes”.
