In the 1993 film, Groundhog Day, Bill Murray plays Phil Connors, an arrogant and self-absorbed weatherman who gets stuck in an endless time loop covering the Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a place he despises. Connors is not engaged in his job or the people around him and it ultimately affects him from escaping the time loop. It is not until the end, when he re-examines his priorities and behavior that he is able to end the cycle and live on happily.
