NCR Corp. wants to better engage with its customers.
Enter Paytronix, armed with a solution that can enhance customer engagement and customer loyalty.
Paytronix Systems, Inc., recently announced an agreement with NCR Corp. that enables the Paytronix Rewards platform to integrate with the NCR Aloha POS system via the NCR Cloud Connect ecosystem.
Cloud Connect is a platform that supports NCR’s cloud-based integration strategy, providing restaurants with access to the latest and most innovative digital services on the market. It enables restaurants to quickly and easily implement new capabilities as part of their overall technology solution across a range of digital offerings from ecosystem partners. Partners in the ecosystem give restaurants extended capabilities to facilitate orders, post payments, track loyalty and special offers, view check details, and provide access to critical restaurant data in real time.
Michelle Tempesta, Director of Marketing for Paytronix, participated in an interview with Loyalty360 to discuss the partnership with NCR.
What did NCR want to improve or enhance when it first approached Paytronix?
While we can’t speak for them, we believe that partnerships within the guest engagement technology ecosystem are a critical piece for any technology platform. The easier we can make it for our customers to enable various technical platforms to work in unison to deliver exceptional guest experiences, the happier their customers are resulting in greater success for our merchants. By easily integrating with partner technology companies, we increase our opportunity to become part of and maintain a contribution to the guest ecosystem.
How will the integration of the Paytronix Rewards platform enhance the NCR Aloha POS system?
NCR Aloha customers now have an approved alternative to existing integrated loyalty and gift offerings. Businesses always prefer good options when making enterprise-sized decisions. Paytronix gives the NCR Aloha customers a great option for integrated loyalty and gift programs – complete with a white-labeled iOS and Android apps and an on-board campaign and messaging tool including geofencing, and more.
How does Cloud Connect work and how will it impact NCR customers?
Today, our software lives on the back office POS server in most cases. With cloud connect, the software will be moved to the cloud, making it easier for merchants to upgrade, add features, and generally maintain the service over time.
What is the most unique aspect of this technology?
The technology behind this relationship from both NCR Aloha and Paytronix enables merchants to deliver exceptional guest interactions with loyalty programs in real time. With the integration, rewards are earned and can be redeemed in real time. Guests can readily identify themselves at the POS in a number of ways – including text to check in and check-in through a mobile app. There are no additional hardware components or peripherals that need to be added to point-of-sale area. This helps merchants quickly train ever-changing employee teams since the software is operated from the POS terminal servers are used to using. Plus, an integrated solution removes the burden of the guest scanning receipts or other types of guest-heavy involvement. POS integration results in higher levels of guest engagement with a lower impact on a brands’ customer service team.
Technology aside, the really unique aspect of this news is the relationship Aloha and Paytronix have forged over the years. While we’ve had an integration to NCR’s Aloha system in the past, it was limited to a case-by-case basis. With this new agreement, NCR Aloha has recognized Paytronix as an official member of its Cloud Connect Ecosystem.
