Time Warner Fast Forwards Customer Experience with Enhanced DVR

New York and Los Angeles are the undisputed entertainment epicenters of America. For Time Warner customers in those cities, a new Enhanced DVR experience is moving the dial on customer experience for HD television.

This week, Time Warner Cable announced the launch of Enhanced DVR, a live recording system that allows users to record up to six programs simultaneously, with a six-fold increase in recording storage on a 1-terabyte hard drive.

Digital storage is more inexpensive now than ever before, and consumers want more content available at the press of a button. A 1-terabyte DVR drive grants users an unprecedented amount of control over their favorite programs, and access to a more rewarding entertainment experience overall.

“DVR customers are passionate about watching what they want, when they want,” Peter Stern, Time Warner Cable EVP, Chief Product, People & Strategy Officer, said in a release. “Our new Enhanced DVR transforms our customers’ TV experience by allowing them to record all their favorite shows at once and store a vast library of programming.”

Advanced viewing options like the TWC Enhanced DVR are more than just digital storage boxes, they are helping transform the way consumers watch television. Prime time, while still relevant, is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Now that audiences have the ability to stream content on demand and amass hours of HD recorded content in their homes, the power of choice is in the hand of the customer. Companies that give consumers the option to access the content they want, the time they want it, provide a unique and truly personalized customer experience.

In addition to Enhanced DVR, Time Warner will be offering an abundance of other exclusive features for customers.

“By the end of this year, customers throughout New York City and Los Angeles will have access to Internet speeds up to 300 Mbps; all-digital TV with the most HD channels of any local provider; and a graphically rich programming guide with up to 39,000 hours of On Demand content choices,” Stern said.

In the coming year, Time Warner will continue to expand its customer experience efforts, expanding these initiatives to Charlotte, Dallas, Hawaii, Kansas City, Raleigh, San Antonio, and San Diego.
