Founded in 2012, Texas-based CataBoom features an independent gamification platform and is a partner for brands searching for ways to gamify their customer loyalty and experience efforts. Over the past 10+ years, CataBoom has refined its complementary loyalty technology, combining gamification with incentives/rewarding, and flexibility so that clients can capture customer attention, motivate action, and create behavior change. CataBoom works with its clients to amplify customer loyalty programs and strategies by enhancing the value exchange between those clients’ programs and their customers.

CataBoom’s SaaS-based platform, Catapult, was developed to support brands directly and partner with loyalty management providers, enhancing their loyalty management platforms and offerings. From full-featured design to easy-to-use templates, Catapult’s technology allows it to seamlessly integrate into existing loyalty programs or applications. No coding knowledge is required by brand marketing teams, and both technical and non-technical resources can gamify marketing campaigns and reward customer behaviors using the platform.

Catapult Platform Capabilities/Configurable Modules
The platform allows marketing teams to create HTML5 responsive game mechanics that can be deployed on web-enabled devices (e.g., mobile, tablet, or web) across various customer touchpoints, such as e-commerce sites, social platforms, mobile apps, texts, iBeacon, email, QR codes, ad units, etc. The platform is typically used to drive specific behaviors from its target audience, whether that is B2C (i.e., marketing), B2B (i.e., sales), or B2E (i.e., training).

Catapult has 9 features available as modules. These modules can be used independently or as a group to create unlimited experiences:

  1. Game Vault
    • Over 200 variations of fun and engaging configurable games/polls/quizzes.
    • Games can be fully skinned and interconnected to create an unlimited number of on-brand digital experiences.
  2. Prizing Engine
    • Any game in the vault can include instant win and/or sweepstakes prizing.
    • Clients can customize with time-based or odds-based amplification — or any combination they choose.
  3. Form Builder
    • Create forms from pre-play — e.g., a registration form for acquisition — to post-play.
  4. Deployment & User Access
    • Campaigns are deployed via one of five distinct methods and are used for multiple end goals: acquiring new customers, engaging existing users, etc.
  5. Play Control
    • The business rules of the program, configuring how the mechanic(s) are accessed/played.
  6. Communications
    • Determine/execute advertisement of campaign/game.
  7. Post Play Actions
    • Outcome the customer should experience that drives desired behavior.
  8. API/Integration Manager via All New Web Hooks
    • Allows for integrations into third-party loyalty management, CRM, and other platforms.
  9. Reporting
    • Client measures ROI of initiative.

Because the modules can be stacked and leveraged in a customized manner, CataBoom’s clients can pick and choose the games and modules that best fit business needs. For example, a client planning a particular launch with a QR code might choose a combination of Game Vault, Prizing Engine, Form Builder, Deployment & User Access, Play Control, and Reporting. Or the client might instead launch an email blast with a game and leverage the Game Vault and Deployment & User Access modules.

CataBoom Client Engagement
Catapult allows CataBoom’s clients to create campaigns in a self-service manner, but CataBoom also offers hybrid and full-service capabilities if a brand does not have the resources or experience and will manage the platform on behalf of clients.

For Hybrid and Full-Service clients, CataBoom runs a 3-step process — Lock, Load, Launch. First, the launch sequence begins with client inputs — concept/campaign, type of program (CataBoom can help clients formulate the program type), and brand creative assets. Next, CataBoom enters the equation, providing the Catapult platform modules in a step CataBoom calls “the load.” Here the campaign is created, bringing client assets to life. Data collection and play control are configured, and fulfillment channels are activated.

Finally, the campaign is launched in the market. Typically, CataBoom’s clients enact the launch and move to advertise the campaign, which can be updated in real-time as needed. From there, reports can be generated, and ROI measured.

Additionally, vertically integrated services enable CataBoom to deliver complete end-to-end solutions as needed, including legal, prizing, fulfillment, insurance-backed services, creative, concepting, and more.

While CataBoom works with large enterprise clients, the company is well-positioned to assist small and medium-sized business clients that choose to engage with them. CataBoom currently serves clients in North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. Learn more at https://www.cataboom.com/.
