What Are the Most Patriotic Brands?

OK, so you think you know which brands are the most patriotic?

Coming on the heels of the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, it seems only appropriate that Brand Keys, a New York-based brand and customer loyalty and engagement consultancy, has released its survey of the top 10 most perceived patriotic brands in 2014.

Brand Keys polled 4,680 consumers (ranging in age from 16 to 65), to evaluate 35 values, including “patriotism.” Percentages indicate how emotionally engaged a given brand made participants feel on the patriotism spectrum.

Here are the Top 15 most perceived patriotic brands in 2014—ties are also shown—according to the survey:

1. Jeep (98%)

2. Levi Strauss (97%)

3. Coca-Cola (95%)

4. Colgate/Wrigley's/Disney/Zippo (93%)

5. Ford/Harley Davidson/Ralph Lauren (91%)

6. Apple/Gillette (90%)

7. Hershey's/Walmart (89%)

8. Amazon (88%)

9. New Balance (87%)

10. AT&T/Google (86%)

11. Gatorade/Marlboro/Sam Adams (85%)

12. Budweiser (84%)

13. Louisville Slugger/Smith & Wesson (83%)

14. American Express/Coors (81%)

15. John Deere/L.L. Bean (80%)

In 2013, when Brand Keys first conducted the patriotic brand survey, three technology behemoths−Apple, Amazon, and Google−failed to make the Top 10. This year, all three of those now iconic brands are on the list.
