Employers looking for a way to reward their people may not need to look any further than the rising trend of digital gift cards.

According to a recent survey of 500 consumers from ages 18 to 65+, 74 percent of respondents said they were likely to buy a digital gift card during this most recent holiday season. The key reason for this growth in popularity is instant delivery, as indicated by 61 percent of respondents. Other reasons listed included:

  • They are easier to send.
  • They are easier and quicker to purchase.
  • They are harder to lose.

Employees may also prefer digital gift cards as incentives because of the ability to earn loyalty rewards. In the above-mentioned survey, 74 percent of respondents said they participate in a loyalty program, while 54 percent said they participate in 2-3 loyalty programs. Of those who do participate in a loyalty program, 59 percent said they prefer to redeem their points for gift cards.

Companies looking to show their employees just how much they are appreciated have a simple solution with digital gift cards.
