Seeking to increase foot traffic, the retailer “will accept merchandise returns from rivals like Macy’s Inc. and Kohl’s Corp. in the new small-format locations, regardless of whether Nordstrom carries the same item. Returns can be a pain point for both the customer and retailer, and shoppers want a convenient way to drop off unwanted items, said Jamie Nordstrom, President of Nordstrom stores.”

The social giant has proclaimed, “We’re launching Facebook Dating in the US. We’re also giving people the ability to integrate their Instagram posts directly into their Facebook Dating profile and giving people the ability to add Instagram followers to their Secret Crush lists, in addition to Facebook friends. By the end of the year, we’ll make it possible to add Facebook and Instagram Stories to your Dating profile too.”
 
Uber Eats to Pull Out of South Korea Amid Tough Competition
The delivery service is ceasing operations in South Korea. “In South Korea, Uber has faced opposition from taxi drivers and was forced to discontinue a ride-hailing service using private cars in 2015. But it currently offers premium taxi-hailing and licensed taxi-hailing services. Uber will continue its riding business in the country, however.”

Delta Partners with Georgia Tech and 5G-Enabled Lab on Autonomous Vehicle Research
With help from Georgia Tech, Delta is the latest company to announce that it is exploring self-driving vehicles. “Autonomous vehicle technology is one of those innovations we see as having the potential to improve employee safety, the customer experience, and operational performance, and this partnership will help us explore all of those possibilities,” says Gil West, Delta’s Chief Operating Officer.
