Loblaw Eliminates Single-Use Plastic Bags
Loblaw announced that it will no longer offer single-use plastic shopping bags at stores across Manitoba. The announcement is the next step in the company's efforts to reduce single-use plastic and its overall environmental footprint. The company has also committed to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, reducing plastic waste, and sending zero food waste to landfills.
Customers are encouraged to bring their own bags to the stores, but there will also be a variety of reusable alternatives available at checkout lanes, including the iconic black PC reusable bag or PC reusable totes.
Amtrak Launches New Rewards Mastercards
Amtrak has announced the launch of its new Amtrak Guest Rewards Mastercard Credit Cards. The new cards offer additional value and benefits to members of Amtrak's loyalty program. Customers can enhance their travel experience by earning points towards rewards like Amtrak travel, upgrades, dining, gift cards and more.
For an annual fee, the Amtrak Guest Rewards Preferred Mastercard offers cardholders multiple benefits including points for qualifying travel, dining, and other purchases with no expiration. The Amtrak Guest Rewards Mastercard has no annual fee.
Million Dollar Baby Launches First Nursery Recommerce
Million Dollar Baby nursery furnishings announced the launch of its recommerce program. Through a partnership with FloorFound, a leader in recommerce for oversized items, the program lets consumers shop through a branded storefront and on the FloorFound website.
The program is part of Million Dollar Baby Co.’s commitment to sustainability, offering style-minded and eco-conscious customers the option to purchase the company’s unused open-box and returned nursery furniture at a discount. To date, the new program has kept more than 12 tons of furniture in circulation.
