No Blarney, Travelzoo to Broadcast St. Patrick’s Day Parade Live from Dublin
For those people who wear “Kiss Me I’m Irish” T-shirts or drink green beer or think that God created whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world, well keep your Irish eyes on Facebook on Saturday because the online travel agency brand Travelzoo is broadcasting the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin live on the social media provider. According to a release on PR Newswire, the chaos begins at 8:30 a.m. on the East Coast. St. Paddy’s Day in Dublin is known for its pomp and spectacle, with floats and musical acts—kind of like if the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade married Mardi Gras.

Walmart To Expand Home Delivery for Customers
If you’re a Walmart customer and fan of home delivery, then your wish may come true during the next few weeks, according to an article in USA Today. Already available in six U.S. markets—Phoenix, Dallas, Orlando, Tampa, Denver, and San Jose—the Walmart service will become an option for more than 40 percent of U.S. households in more than 100 metro areas, the article says. Walmart will provide the locations of the new markets as service begins over the next few weeks. We wrote an article in January about Walmart CEO Doug McMillon when he joined National Retail Federation President and CEO Matthew Shay for a keynote session titled, “The Changing Face of Retail,” during NRF 2018 in New York City.

Omnichannel Loyalty Programs Hold Significant Long-Term Value
Omnichannel loyalty is a hot topic these days among loyalty marketers and, in this article from Retail Law Advisor, technological advancements allow consumers to browse and buy products on smartphones and tablets, providing for a myriad of shopping options at the touch of a finger. Many brands, the article says, are adopting omnichannel-based customer loyalty programs in lieu of traditional loyalty programs. The article goes on to say that these types of loyalty programs have significant long-term value because they help develop customer relationships, which, in turn, lead to customer retention. We wrote an article four days ago about how digging into data can elevate a brand’s omnichannel loyalty program.
