Hy-Vee Partners with Kellogg’s and Keurig Dr. Pepper to End Summer Hunger
Hy-Vee has announced a partnership with Kellogg’s and Keurig Dr. Pepper for its End Summer Hunger campaign, which will look to provide food for children and families in need. For every qualifying purchase in July, one meal will be donated to Feeding America food banks in Hy-Vee’s eight-state region.
“We know that many families in our communities struggle with hunger, which is compounded this year by the effects of COVID-19,” said Donna Tweeten, Hy-Vee’s executive vice president, chief of staff and chief customer officer, in a Hy-Vee press release. “Having access to the proper nutrition is essential to strong, vibrant communities. Hy-Vee, along with our partners, are dedicated to doing our part to end summer hunger and are proud to support Feeding America to ensure children and families have access to meals no matter what time of year it is.”
Postmates Mulling $2.6 Billion Offer from Uber
According to a QSR Magazine article, Uber is looking to purchase Postmates for about $2.6 billion. This news comes after a reported merger with Grubhub fell through for Uber.
“The reality is that we will IPO when we believe we find the right time for the business and the right time for the markets,” Postmates co-founder and CEO Bastian Lehmann told TechCrunch in October, linked in the above QSR Magazine article. “And if you look at the markets right now, I believe they are a little choppy. They are a little choppy when it comes to growth companies specifically … We are hopeful that we find a good window to get out there.”

Wyndham Rewards Eases Member Level Requirements, Offers 2,000 Bonus Points with Every Qualified Stay
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has announced it is easing requirements for earning Member Levels, reducing the number of nights members need to stay by 40 percent, according to the press release.
"Throughout the pandemic, we've put our members first, providing flexibility while protecting their points and their benefits," said Eliot Hamlisch, executive vice president, Loyalty and Revenue Optimization, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, in a Wyndham press release. "Now with travel picking up, and hotels adopting our new Count On Us health and safety protocols, we're taking the additional step of easing requirements for our Member Levels. It's one more way we're letting members know, when they're ready to travel, Wyndham is ready to welcome them."

Wingstop Opens First Ghost Kitchen in Dallas
According to a QSR Magazine article, Wingstop has announced the launch of its first ghost kitchen in the brand’s hometown of Dallas.
“We have a goal to digitize 100 percent of transactions as we drive to become a top 10 global restaurant brand and we believe ghost kitchens are a great step for the brand as delivery and digital sales continue to increase,” chairman and CEO Charlie Morrison said in a QSR Magazine article. “The team leveraged their entrepreneurial spirit to move quickly and launch Wingstop’s first domestic ghost kitchen.”

General Mills Expects Elevated Demand to Continue
According to a Wall Street Journal article, General Mills Inc. expects high demands to continue during the pandemic as well as an economic recession to continue.
“The company expects consumer concerns about Covid-19 virus transmission and the recession to drive elevated demand for food at home, relative to pre-pandemic levels,” General Mills Inc. said in a Wall Street Journal article.
