Instacart Adds ChatGPT to Shopping App

Instacart Inc. will add OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology to its app to power a new search engine designed to answer user questions about food. The service will improve customer experience by helping search for recipes and their ingredients, among other food or meal options.

The new “Ask Instacart” feature will use ChatGPT’s language software to provide a voice response to user questions instead of a list of results. Additionally, Instacart will supplement the new feature with its own AI software, allowing the new AI feature to access products and grocery stores in Instacart’s database.
