Crocs, Krispy Kreme, and Starbucks Say “Thank You” to the Healthcare Community

For those in healthcare, there is some good news today as a few brands have announced new corporate social responsibility-focused initiatives and campaigns that serve as a small “thank you” for everyone’s hard work.

Crocs, best known for their fun and soft, yet sturdy footwear, announced the launch “A Free Pair for Healthcare,” a new program for those on the front lines of the Coronavirus battle. Announced today, Crocs will offer healthcare workers across the United States the opportunity to get a free pair of shoes through its website with free shipping while supplies last. Workers can choose a pair from select Crocs Classic Clogs and Crocs at Work styles.

The brand’s mission of “be comfortable in your own shoes” is more relevant now than ever as the healthcare industry has embraced Crocs’ shoes because of their comfort and durability during long shifts. In addition to the free online request form set for individuals, Crocs is donating up to 10,000 pairs of shoes to be distributed across several healthcare facilities and organizations to get their shoes to those working tirelessly to save lives.

“Like everyone, we’ve been closely monitoring the news and working hard to map out a way to most effectively help where we can,” shared Crocs President and CEO Andrew Rees. “Over the past week, we have spoken to healthcare workers, their facilities and even their family and friends, and they have specifically asked for our shoes in an effort to provide ease on their feet, as well as ease of mind as they need the ability to easily clean up before they go home to their families. Starting today, Crocs is immediately prepared to fulfill and ship up to 10,000 pairs per day to our heroes in healthcare. The duration of our giveaway will depend on our level of inventory and the amount of requests we receive. These workers have our deepest respect, and we are humbled to be able to answer their call and provide whatever we can to help during this unprecedented time.”

Krispy Kreme is saying “thank you” and hoping to bring joy to millions in the medical community on Monday, March 30 (National Doctors’ Day) and every subsequent Monday through National Nurses Week (May 6-12), by providing all healthcare workers free dozens of Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. All workers need to do is place a drive-thru order and show their employer badge to receive a free dozen on their way to work or to share at home after a long shift.

Starbucks is also spreading some love to healthcare workers, paramedics, officers, and firefighters with free coffee until May 3. Additionally, Starbucks is donating $500,000 to fire responders in the U.S., with half of the donation going toward care packages for healthcare workers and the other half to pay for personal protection medical equipment and other essential items.
