Umpqua Bank’s Customer Experience Approach Makes It Oregon’s Most Admired Bank

Umpqua bank customer experienceUmpqua Bank’s focus on customer experience has made it Oregon’s Most Admired Financial Services Company and the sixth Most Admired Company across all industries by The Portland Business Journal. Every year, Oregon executives vote to determine the “Most Admired Companies” list each year.

Umpqua has been named Oregon’s Most Admired Financial Services Company every year since the award was introduced.

“Umpqua is focused on building a different kind of bank, one that provides all of the products and services of a large institution but delivers them with the personal service and engagement of a community bank and the innovative customer experience of a great retailer,” said Ray Davis, Umpqua Bank CEO. “We’re honored to have that vision recognized by executives across Oregon for the tenth consecutive year.”

A statewide poll of more than 3,200 CEOs and top executives chose this year's company winners based on criteria that included innovation, quality of management, community involvement, quality of products and services, and branding and marketing.

This has been a big year for Umpqua that completed a merger with Sterling Financial Corporation, creating the West Coast's largest community bank. It also opened a flagship in Seattle and another bank in the Seattle neighborhood of Bellingham. In addition, it launched The Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation to expand Umpqua’s investments in organizations focused on children's education and wellbeing.

Umpqua Bank has locations across Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California and Northern Nevada. It is consistently recognized for its innovative customer experience and banking strategy.
