Northern Gas Networks Shines in Customer Experience

England’s Northern Gas Networks has proven it can’t be matched in its customer experience efforts.

Case in point: The company (NGN) came home with Gold awards in six categories at the U.K. Customer Experience Awards last month. Among these awards, Northern Gas Networks was also honored with the overall award for Best Customer Experience.

  • Business Change / Transformation – Simplification Award
  • Small Contact Centre Award, Employee Engagement – Taking the Lead Award
  • Team – Customers at the Heart and Overall Customer Experience Award

In winning these awards, Northern Gas Networks topped several larger competitors among the various categories, including Nationwide, Balfour Beatty, Graze, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Liverpool Victoria.

The U.K. Customer Experience Awards, now in its fifth year, is the only ceremony of its kind that recognizes customer experience as a critical facet of business strategy. The judges comprise more than 100 qualified industry practitioners, and winners are announced during a gala lunch for 800 attendees.

“Providing an exceptional customer experience to both our customers and our own employees is something very important to us,” Mark Horsley, CEO, Northern Gas Networks, said in a release, “so we are absolutely delighted to have won six U.K. Customer Experience Awards.”

NGN’s award haul is testament to its excellence in delivering amazing customer experiences, and serves as a benchmark for others in the industry.
