Louis Delhaize Adds Customer Engagement Initiatives to Grocery Outlets Across France and Romania

Louis Delhaize Customer EngagementLouis Delhaize, the proprietor of two leading grocery outlets known as Cora and Match, is implementing a number of customer engagement and loyalty program initiatives to better serve it’s customers. The Belgium-based retailer and operator of both supermarkets and hypermarkets across Romania and France, has announced a new private label loyalty program and a new mobile payment system.

To entice French shoppers in one of its leading markets, Louis Delhaize has launched a new loyalty program throughout its Match supermarket chain. The new marketing initiative will allow customers to earn points that can be turned into cash or be used towards savings on all the private label products the brand carries.

Specifically, the loyalty program will bring a 10% savings on Match’s private label products.

In an effort to promote the new loyalty program and trumpet the value that now awaits customers in stores, Louis Delhaize has released a veritable of flood flyers and point-of-sale notifications that have metaphorically flowed throughout the streets of France. These advertisements are attempting to attract the eyes, hearts, minds, and loyalty of potential shoppers everywhere.Louis Delhaize Customer Engagement

Louis Delhaize hopes that this new program will bring an increased simplicity to consumers, which will mark an improvement over previous versions.

The second half of the brand’s most recent customer engagement initiative sees Louis Delhaize continuing its march into the digital age.

This promotion comes through Cora’s integration of a new mobile payment system. Developed in conjunction with mobilPay for both iOS and Android smartphones, the mobile payment system will first be rolled out at one test hypermarket. After that, the brand expects the system to go live in more stores across Romania.

The new mobile payment system comes after Core stores already saw a significant rise in sales last year. Sales across the 12 Romanian Core stores rose 4.5% last year to RON1.71 billion (US$426.7 million).

Louis Delhaize expects growth to remain strong, even despite the rising presence of competition in the area.
