British Airways Loyalty ProgramBusinesses professionals comprise a large portion of frequent flyers, which is why airlines try particularly hard to gain the customer loyalty of this segment. To provide a more relevant customer experience for these consumers, British Airways recently announced a number of new enhancements to better serve Egyptian travelers.

After the promotion proved popular across Europe, British Airways is now reaffirming its commitment to the Egyptian market through an expansion that will make “On Business” available in this area as well. Furthermore, British Airways is also launching direct flights from London Gatwick to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

“Sharm El Sheikh is a consistently favorite tourism destination and a key destination for British Airways,” said Mervat Alfy, Commercial Manager for British Airways in North Africa. “As we continue to explore opportunities to offer our valued customers industry-best service with convenient routes to preferred destinations, this new flight from Gatwick Airport, the UK’s second largest airport serving 38 million passengers a year is certainly a welcome addition to help promote tourism to Egypt.”

Effective immediately, the new flight route will see regular departures twice a week. During the winter, flights will increase to three times a week.British Airways CX

This is only the latest enhancement the airline has made for travelers. Previously, British Airways also relocated to a more modern and spacious terminal to provide a superior customer experience. This terminal contains five lounges, can host up to 2,5000 people, and contains 112 stores and restaurants.

The new Sharm El Sheikh route will now allow even more business travelers to enjoy these amenities.

“We’re really pleased to add another route to our 2015 portfolio, bringing our total short haul network to 49 routes and 19 long haul,” said Colm Lacy, Head of Commercial Gatwick. “Sharm El Sheikh is only five hours away and it’s a popular choice.”

Alongside the new direct route, Egyptian business travelers can earn points with British Airways Iberia and American Airlines networks. Points and rewards are based on spend and On Business groups companies of different sizes into tiers. Each tier gets varying degrees of benefits including free flights and upgrades, discounts off selected flights across a global network, the ability to earn Avios frequent flyer currency, and more.
